Default eratic indicator

the n/s indicator malfunctions sometimes. When I push the stalk down the lights flash very quickly and I get a message that the front bulb is not working and the red triangle light comes on.Drive home switch off ,leave for a few hours and its OK.
When I bought the car I noticed there was a couple of indicator bulbs in the
glove pocket and I guess the last owner thought it was a duff bulb as well but its not.
Any ideas anyone ?

My v70 used to do the same, I replaced the bulb holders in the front indicators, they weren't expensive.

Corroded Connection More than Likely ... (where the Bulb fits into the bulb Holder ...)

take out offending Bulb & give the contacts a Scrape with a sharp Knife & then a Good squirt with WD 40

That should sort it out

Is it ex police?. I had the same trouble with mine that turned out to be a bad connection from when they removed the extra wiring from the flasher units.

It's probably a grounding problem inside the socket. Fixed the same problem two days ago.

fix is described on the following site: http://patrickhenrypdx.blogspot.co.u...gnal-bulb.html

Relatively easy fix or just buy a new socket at the dealer

good luck
