I already feel some slight shaking and going to replace gearbox bush and probably will get square one you linked to.
Is it original mount or uprated one? As there is square one on the engine..
Acceleration seams about right, well could be a bit more responsive..
The square one in the link is the Volvo part--a new bushing in the aluminum frame.

Default Powerflex modification

1997 T5 CD

I have just fit powerflex purple top mount and it vibrates also.

I have thought about drilling 6 holes adjacent too the centre shaft too soften it up!

Any ideas on this or has anybody done this. Thanks

Drilling into the polyurethane might be difficult. I thought about doing this on the poly mount I put in my 2004 V70 petrol 170 which caused a disappointing and irritating vibration. The vibration has seemingly lessened with time.

I think I'm just going to get a Volvo replacement mount or maybe another OE Volvo bushing to fit inside the aluminium mount.

The bushing in the OE mount on my 2004 v70 petrol 170 was asymmetric. It was stiffer in the direction of piston travel and softer perpendicular to that. So I think you should only cut holes to accomplish this same asymmetry.

Since fitting the bush i have demolished £80 in fuel. And it feels ok, still vibrates but when accelerating (hard) it makes the car sound mean.

In conclusion too drilling, I think i'll leave it like it is. Well for now.

Hello to pillapow,John C, Jim314, Speedy, grass hopper, Ant77, 850man, User and Repal, Okay, we've all tried the poly bushing and learned what it can and can't do. Fine. Has anyone tried fitting poly control arm bushings? I'm at the point of changing my shocks and struts and was thinking if that little bit of firming up would be helpful. The UK police spec. V70s have them. Kira

I fitted one a while back it was bloody awfull , any advantage if there was one was certainly outweighed by the dumper truck feel it generated.,

Hi, I do wanna share my experiences on fitting the top engine mount on Volvo S60 2.0T. As i did everything regarding replacing the engine mount and finally when i start my car, it was like an earthquake with severe vibrations but before replacement was completely smooth & fine.
So anyways I did reverse the process where found the culprit turned out to be a spark plug wire was sandwich below the cover where the bolts had made a hole on it while mounting.
So when fitting a spark plug cover, guys be very careful to secure the spark plug wires in its section before mouting cover with bolts.
Hope this helps out in avoidance for small faults.
Regards,
Sandip

I did the same with my old V70.
Didn't take me long to go back to the original type of bush!
