D5244T4 Loss of power. Swirl motor link off.
Hi All
Two months ago my S80 D5 2006 started loosing power and runs in limp mode from time to time. After engine restart all was back to normal. A month ago while traveling, engine stopped suddenly. I couldn't start it Back. ECU did throw out some errors, gearbox and something else. After disconnecting and reconnecting the battery i managed to start the engine. Engine stopped again 2 miles from home. Had to tow it this time. After checking the error codes list was long: Current Fault Log ------------------ P0725: Engine Speed Input Circuit Pending Fault Log ------------------ P0734: Gear 4 Incorrect Ratio Historic Fault Log ------------------ ECU reports no historic faults Other discovered fault codes (possibly pending, current or manufacturer specific) ---------------------------------------------------- P0131: O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 1) P0480: Cooling Fan 1 Control Circuit P0652: Unknown code - More information may be available on the web P0700: Transmission Control System (MIL Request) P200A: Unknown code - More information may be available on the web P252A: Unknown code - More information may be available on the web Took the car to Volvo dealer, paid £141 for report saying: -5 volt system short to live -Throttle module non-responsive and swirl motor jammed -Requires further investigation for another £566 After couple of days i looked at the report and tried to fix the car. I managed to fix it without spending a penny. I looked at swirl motor and the arm was off on one side, i took the swirl motor apart checked the DC motor inside with 12V battery and it was fine. Put everything back together, connect all plugs and the engine started. Today while driving, engine lost its power for a second or two but then was OK. The swirl link is OK. What could be the problem ? PS. It's my first post, maybe a bit too long. |
