I would imagine the module must hook into the canbus to receive commands to lock or unlock the braking, post a pic of the module if you can. I wonder if it shares some commonality with fords EPB?
No it no longer operates the brake, fortunatley it stopped working in the off position (have heard of a few people were stuck in garages with brakes on)

No havent tried the battery, will do in a moment and post the outcome. I will try to post a pic later as ipad not letting me

I doubt it as it could cause him a lot of money and time sorting it if something went wrong , generaly units from other vehicles cannot be loaded with software for a different vehicle .

Try an indi with VIDA access. I had something reprogrammed. The main dealer when asked about the problem only "referred" it to later and it took 5 minutes to sort.

Did you manage to resolve the issue Glen? I have the same issue with my XC70 - unfortunately mine stuck on, so it was a case of me and the AA under the car for two hours winding back the actuators to get it moving again!

The module is supplied by TRW, but the s/w coding bit is going to be tricky. Did you manage to find anyone to code a module for you?
