See my post above. B6/B8 are in a different compared to B4, you can't compare them. B6/B8's are very firm but they were exactly what I needed. Whilst VERY expensive the quality of them and the finished performance is in a league of its own.

Good idea! might as well get a set of these too before digging in, they're going for 141 Euros a set on the German ebay.de which is quite cheap IMO .. but I can see two variations and both are for the FWD P1 platform, namely E10-84-006-14-22 and E10-84-006-07-22 .. is there a height drop difference between the two? I'd prefer the least drop, max to -25mm, but it seems that various websites are mixing them up, stating that E10-84-006-07-22 drops the car by -40mm while on other sites it's vise-versa..

So Chris, could you please tell which set do you have? and aprox. by how much it dropped the ride height?
Thank you!
Not sure on the exact code afraid but I'll try and find out. What I can say is that the total drop is 25mm measured (marketed as 30mm).

Thanks, would be much appreciated ! That would be the set I'm after as that is the max drop I can tolerate since my car is still on 16" alloys.

Good morning at all,

i have some questions about the B4 Kit.

I drive a V50 T5 and i thought that is a sport shock absobers, because it's very hard and uncomfortable but at last week i know, i have the dynamic inside. It's not nice to drive over road holes.

Is there a different between B4 and dynamic?
I need a direct and "tight" turn feeling but without the hard shocks like yet.

And the next question is: could i use the original springs (round about 150.000km) with new B4 dampers?

I' so sorry for my simple english ;-)

Kind regards
Daniel

I'm beginning to think about going for B4s based upon positive reviews. At 87k miles I feel the ride on mine has seriously declined in the last few months. At times it is intolerable on the worsening local roads and I've resorted to running slightly lower tyre pressures to reduce the crashiness.

Welton, have you had an alignment done? I would suggest it would make another big difference if not yet done. Jackson Ford of Henley in Arden are VERY good. Used a few times now.

A week on and some 700 miles I can still report all is fantastic, the turn-in is beautiful and the car is so well composed it honestly feels like new. Where I used to cringe going over bumps and holes in the road now they're hardly noticeable but the car still feels nice and tight/sporty.

Had the alignment done on a Hunter machine - all now perfect.

Daft question... did these come complete assembled with coils? I want to do mine but don't like dealing with compressed springs, had a spring compressor fail a few years back and it scared the life out of me... To this day I swear a little bit of poop came out...

No the B4's are just the dampers, the rears are easy to do but the front struts had to be stripped down etc. Bilstein do coilover 'kits' complete but are quite expensive compared to the B4.

As I say, just looking to avoid having to bugger around with compressed springs! But I don't want to pay a garage to do a job I can do...

Oh well I'm just going to have to man up I supposes!

Hi Welton,

Good to hear your B4 upgrade is a success and makes a big difference to you. I found when I done mine it also transformed the ride and handling over the standard shocks. I however also opted for eibach springs too though.
