New Kodiaq isn't too bad in the right colour and pretty big 720 litre boot. Early reports saying drives well and solid interior. Could steal some customers off the bottom rungs of the XC depending on badge snobbery 😉.

No prices yet though, or when the SQ5 will be released, but think 282 bhp would be more than ample..........
The front grill is seriously ugly. I just couldn't buy anything that hideous. The Audi grill does not seem to scale well. The small version on their cars looks good. Interior is OK though.

Not a fan of the stuck on iPad console on the Q5, bit like Mercedes have done. Seems a bit of a lazy design to me

Think they are due to ship Q1 next year.

An interesting possibility: I originally thought the Kodiak was a massive car, but actually it is a smidgen smaller than the XC60 by the looks of things: a definitely possibility.
I've never been a badge snob (heck, owning the XC60 has brought more than a little derision from friends who think I am clearly ready for my pipe & slippers now!!), & the Skoda engineering is pretty well second to none these days.
I imagine it will be possible to get a VERY well specc'd unit for under £40K next year!
Adaptive cruise is now on my list of "must have" items, and I like the sound of all-round cameras (had a test drive in a Disco with that, very nice for small car parks as well as off road!)

Kodiaq vrs under consideration using the vw biturbo 240hp apparently. Think prices won't be too far below XC
60 as 148hp AWD with 7 spd dsg is estimated around £29k. Personally l would be looking at the 181hp diesel but interesting to see it in the flesh and if any discount is available when order books open in a couple of months.

Surely they will not discount a brand new car for a while. This is a big car for Skoda, literally, and everything I have heard means that they will price it very competitively. No need for discounts if you price it well in the first place.

Default Jaguar F-Pace Journey Continues (Dundas Castle)

Hello folks,

Received an invitation to join Jaguar at their Art of Performance Tour. This is us at Dundas Castle this afternoon, just outside Edinburgh.

Quintessentially British. Everything - from the welcome, the hospitality over a lovely lunch, the setting and the experience. Just 19 of us there for the afternoon.

Drove an F-Pace for 75mins, a supercharged 3.0 V6 S F-Type for 20mins with the loudest popping exhaust ever, a 3.0d V6 S XF for 20mins, experienced a full-on rally stage which was truly frightening (those trees don't have crumple zones but they had given us crash helmets beforehand), something called the Ice-Cube where the F-Pace drove itself up a really steep ramp with slippery matting (they call it AdSR, don't know what it means but it's amazing) and then the hill descent down the other side before finishing off with wonderful coffee, tea and cakes at the end of the day. 4hrs in total - went too quickly.

Nobody spoke about sales, about prices, and there was not a sales person in sight - just as my dealer had promised! It's just not cricket! And before you ask..... most of the other folk that were there this afternoon had not placed any orders for Jaguars which is why I am so surprised that there was no attempt to upsell etc.

Anyway, here are the pics:

What a great time. If you get the opportunity then seize it with both hands. Thank you Jaguar - I feel as if I have bonded with my F-Pace even though it hasn't even been born yet!

Regards,

Arianne

I got a flat "grand off whichever" and "6%" off my Yeti when they were new - luckily for Norco both North West dealers !
