Air in fuel line - V50 2.0d 2009
having a continual problem with air in the fuel line from the fuel filter housing meaning I have to bleed the system daily and I need some help.
I have replaced the filter and it still happens, so bypassed the filter and it works ok for a couple of starts and then air locks appear again. I'm thinking that one of the quick release connections is allowing air in to the system. I don't see any fuel leaks anywhere along the length of the hose or any of the connections. Was thinking of replacing the fuel lines from the left hand rear of the engine to the fuel filter in the hope that this cures it BUT I can't find anywhere to buy the part from. Before I go down this route what else could it be? When I bleed the system the return pipe holds good vacuum but lots of air comes from the inlet pipe leading to the fuel filter. Please help as its driving me crazy. Dan |

Hi
I guess the only place to buy these pipes from are volvo or ford. I would use a small amount of grease on each connection one at a time to see which connection is leaking Mark |

You need some new rubber O-rings for the connectors as this is where the air gets in.
This thread may help: https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showt...ghlight=O-ring Quite a frustrating issue and provokes thoughts of "seriously....in a Volvo?"...but it's not a Volvo engine..... |

Bit of an update. Greasing the inlet to the fuel filter housing has done the trick. Just sourcing the o rings now. Thanks for all your help
