C30 Wheel Ideas
Good Evening All,
I have a 2011 C30 in white which I adore. I am looking at getting some new wheels for it due to wanting some wider tread all round really. I have atreus wheels on now which are 18x17.5 and on my old C30 had 18x8 on for a while and noticed the grip more thus wanting the change. Of course I am looking after market but are there are any Volvo rims people can think of that would be 8J wide, dont have to do be 18 can be 17. I have thought about ixions as my brother has those on his V40 and its an option but wanted some ideas. Cheers |

C70 MkII rims have a different offset, they are ET45 whereas the rims for all the other P1 cars are ET52.5. So a rim from a C70 would sit slightly further out in the wheel-arch than the same width rim from a C30, S40 or V50 - in theory, by 7.5mm. You already know that 8J fits in ET52.5 (presumably). But if going with 8J rims from a C70, you might want to check the clearances around the outside before you commit, especially if the car has been lowered.
The three 8J C70 styles I know of are all 18": Midir as mentioned, Morpheus (the ones on mine), and Mirzam. There will be plenty of pictures in Google of Mirzams, and they'll be the most likely to find secondhand as they were available from the start of C70 production in 2006 until the facelift. There's a dark-coloured facelift C30 D4 near me on what looks like Mirzams, resprayed in a metallic dark grey. Unless they're a corresponding ET52.5 style, in the same way as the C70 Serapis C vs. other Serapis? I don't know and I'll never get close enough to find out, but I have to say that look & stance does suit it well. While I think about it, last I knew, member DME123 on here had some Mirzams he was looking to sell on - you could try a PM if interested?

Be careful to only choose a tyre size approved at the factory by Volvo otherwise you will have insurance issues.
Standard Volvo sizes don't tend to be 'wide' though.

Hey thanks for the responses couple of things.
For wider tread I want to go to a 225 as it seems to provide a bit extra grip with out it causing an issue with insurance as there are official volvo wheels with that width. Midirs although nice seem to be the go to move I feel and i wanted something a bit different. Having had a look I really like the Mirzams and coming across pictures of them fitted to the car I think it will be a good look. I will throw a picture up when its done in a couple of months as I will get them resprayed anthracite probably, as the car is currently white so want some contrast. Dont know about maybe going black to hide the brake dust more Again thanks |

got some 235 tires here all round, have to say they are perfect with no rub .... grip is better by far.
Midirs are pretty good alloys but very heavy, had them before .... ride is very nice but they are probably steam rollering all the bumps in the road.
