Default retro-fit cruise control

On a 850 You have the pump which fits under the battery tray, Ecu plugs into the main fuse board behind the basic fuses in the engine bay by the window, take out the four screws. Then change indicator stork. Then lastly fit the mirco switchs to the back of the clutch brake and gas pedal.
Just a question of finding where volvo have tucked the power cables for the different things.

On a '99 car the cruise control is an engine ECU function. So all that's required is to add the column switch and reprogram the ECU.

I don't know which version of autodiagnos you have but the original version will not communicate with a '99 engine ECU.

The trip computer is much the same, i.e. add the switch and reprogram the dash panel.

However the cost for the dealer to do this will probably put you off.

It won't be that simple because the immobilizer is a separate unit but matched to the ECU's.

When I bought my '99 V70 (back in 2003/4) I had the dealer fit cruise control; it was £300. I also later had the trip computer fitted but can't remember price for that but it wasn't less than cruise control.

On a '99 car you only need the column switch.

I'd make sure the autodiagnos will do work before you buy the part.
