Default Here maps

Anybody having issues with sending destinations from Here maps. I have been using this for years and there is always a drop down for sending to a Volvo car from the share menu. The Volvo drop has disappeared and now only shows Mercedes Benz.

Note

From and including February 2020, it is no longer possible to send map destinations from websites to the car.
Maybe you can use the app to keep sending it? that's the way I've always done it but I have Volvo on Call, not sure if it works without an active sub and the car being enabled for it

This is a real pain in the backside.

I do not have VOC and have always sent my destinations, via my desktop, to the car.
With here.com and my mouse, I could zoom in and pick a farm gate, if I wanted to go there.
I was just about to send a destination for Penrith, when I read this and sure enough, my Volvo has been replaced with a Merc.
Sh*t.

There is a windows UWP app which does work, although always says failed to send to car but it actually does do it, might be worth a try? although you can't just click a place on the map.

The andoird/iphone versions actually get updated mind and let you just tap the map and send that destination to the car, assuming it lets you use your Volvo ID to do it

If i'm honest it really ticks me off that Volvo do this, i'm just hoping that doesn't mean the maps will stopped being updated on the older Volvo nav systems!

Its a shame that Volvo themselves don't know. I rang customer services today and they had no clue at all. Told me to ring my local garage or contact Here themselves. Really disappointing they don't know what they are going on about.

The advantage of using Here maps was someone in the office can send destinations to my car without having direct access to all the features of the car. I don't particularly want them unlocking the car overnight using the app. Looks like I will have to sort it out myself. Not particularly well advertised.

hrmm, thats a good use for it! never thought of that!

I wonder if there is someway to send a destination to the car, if there's a documented way might be able to work a way to do via bing or google maps indirectly.

Being Volvo i find it hard to imagine they would allow it though

I just tried Apple maps and sent a destination to the car. Using the share option sent to VOC app., which opened a window with the option to send to car. I did this on my phone, won't work from desktop Mac though.

Bit of a PITA this - I used to use the Here maps feature a lot from my PC.

A bit of a convoluted work-around I've found though: If you find the destination on Google Maps on your computer, you should have the option to "send to phone" (if you've got all your accounts set up/linked etc). On your phone you can open the location on google maps, and copy the location coordinates and paste them into the map in VOC, then send to car.

A bit clumsy admittedly, but still only takes a minute or so and achieves the same end result
