ok. finally got the time to get some pics.

I finally realized a couple of things:

1. the so called pressure in the reservoir released when opened after a drive is not pressure from air, its the expansion of the fluid volume

2. when cold, after changing the steering fluid to the green stuff, I do now get a chirping coming from the power steering, as the accessories belt is new. so only now I could isolate the sound, as before there was a chirping sound but maybe it was the belt being old. but just like before, once running for a couple of minutes, the chirping dissipates and it sounds normal at idle. Also now, after engine at running temp, if revved there’s a very faint (really faint) whining coming from the belt area, could be normal, but at the same time the pump on its last legs.

3.As someone on this thread asked me before and i couldn’t answer, when stationary, if a revved the engine at neutral, the steering gets noticeably lighter/easier to turn. Clearly a tell tale sign of pump issues (maybe?). inclined to believe so, but please let me know your thoughts.

i've noticed that, when ive changed the intercooler, there isn’t any PS oil cooler line running in front of the radiators. so why do i have lines covered in oil and the front right of the car looks like in the pics i'm posting (the 3rd one takes the cake!) That subframe mount has been receiving some hot oil (either still or in the past) which fairly explains why i have a wandering behaviour from the car when going over bumps or in certain roads with pronounced camber, where the car seems to have a mind of its on in terms of direction. I already bought the IPD inserts for the subframe mounts, but now i feel i don’t want to wast them until i address the other issues.

Also its a mistery to me what are those steel lines (on 1st and 2nd pics) under what i believe to be a ac line and the ecu box? is that steering line?

Please let me know your thoughts.

Cheers
