it`s a good job i wasn`t well enough to go to the mini meet in pitlochry, went to collect my daughter from her friends on sunday ,and the car misfired and what sounder like big ends rattling, and engine died, just when i was pulling up to park a blue light flashed in my rear view mirror, i stopped to see oil gushing out of engine bay all over the wheels and forming an oil puddle, the officer said they where going to give me a ticket for a noisy exhaust ,i explained it was the engine making the noise not the exhaust, they then offered to take me home,so at least i didn`t have to walk for miles with me bad back, car is now in garage , expecting a huge bill! but what can you do.will have to buy an old banger to get around in,if i can find one for £500.oh woe is me,malcolmk

Been there. Can empathsize. Think small repair bill. No sense encouraging high repair bill.
Maybe you will get lucky and pick up a decent "...old banger". Could happen!

My sympathies. I hope you get it sorted. It should be possible to get something pretty reliable for £500

That sucks. You'll get a run around for under £500 easy. Hope you get it sorted quickly and it doesn't cost too much.

That really sucks mate

I've had 2 850's for less than 500 quid each, both with mot, so it's worth looking about if you want a nice run around...
