Wanted - Volvo 740 Radiator support and assembley
Hi, I've recently bought a Volvo 740 however it's missing the entire front section between the headlights. I've managed to source a grille but im stilling missing the radiator support and the latch support, all the items that are normally in front of the radiator. Looking for these parts ASAP.

For the year of manufacture and the exact Model Year, you'll have to consult the VIN number on the plate just above the left hand headlamp. Specifically you need the 10th character of the VIN number : https://www.volvoclub.org.uk/vin_700.shtml Model Year J = 1988 K = 1989 L = 1990 M = 1991 N = 1992 The letter could be any of those except N because although "H" was a 1990 registration, that could have been on a 1991MY as Volvo Model Years run from July to June i believe so a late "H" reg could be a 91MY. Conversely if it was sitting in the dealers compound for 18 months, it could even be an 88MY (built anytime from July 88 onwards) and if it's 1990 on a "G" reg, that situation would be even more possible. Alternatively a photo of the front end would be helpful.

I've also some pictures of the front end. She still needs some cleaning up but trying to get her through the MOT as currently the radiator is held in by zipties and I don't know how well that'll go down at the garage. https://photos.app.goo.gl/UpeSYmgecgQYTxYy8 https://photos.app.goo.gl/oSwEhwP9XYr5MFEr9 Thanks |

Also the right hand locating peg in the bottom of the radiator isn't in the grommet at the bottom. Although the subject of this pic isn't the radiator and its associated parts, it does show the bits you need and also that they're fairly universal across the range. My radiator is both wider and deeper than yours but as you can see if you look closely, there are holes already for the inboard bolts for the left hand top radiator bracket. Your best bet is if you can find the bits in a breakers and remove them yourself or buy from a breaker on here that knows these cars - they will be able to look at your pics and supply bits to suit, even from a 940 which at the age yours is, could easily pass for a 940 with different badges!

I should be able to supply you with some of the missing bits, I'll have to check what I've got and get back to you.
