Default Wiper at front. Volvo v40 D2 2013 r design

Hi all

I have an issues with my front windscreen wipers as they just STOPPED working.

I had a fault finding done and was told the wiper motor had seized

I was then quoted 500 pounds to do this repair. And I am not really willing to part with that as I have already spent too much on this car to make it right

I decided to source a second hand motor and linkage and know it works.

I thought I might aswell do it myself.

HOWEVER. when removing the arms etc. I have come across the PEDESTRIAN PROTECTION AIRBAG.

I don’t want to even touch it just incase it goes off. But just wanted to know if I can maybe disconnect the battery to remove it so I can do the repair myself?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise will have tj bite the bullet and spend 500 big ones on a windscreen wiper LOL.

I can’t find anything online about how to do this. Seems as if v40 is some rare car with no info.

Thanks in advance.
