replace front brake dust guards
hi all ive swopped my front brake dust guards today the job went well with the good weather on my drive i gave the hub area a good wire brushing got of plenty of rust then applied a rust inhibiter JELONITE then a coat of cellulose primer then a coat of wax oil they are not perfect but i think a massive improvement ,
the 36mm nut is TIGHT very TIGHT but with the big breaker bar they came of ok every thing went fine till i put the second wheel bearing back the outer bearing grease cover came of very easy strange as i could not get it to slot back into its housing i was in trouble, no way woud it fit back in i spoke to luke 360 beast ,he guided me through the tech data on the bearings unit for the record the unit has to be upside down to allow the bearings to fall back into there correct position then the bearing cover can be inserted from below then turn the bearing unit horizontal and slide it on to the hub making sure the hub does not push the grease cover back off again , thanks again to LUKE for guiding through this as im sure it will catch others out if its the first time they have removed the bearing unit . regards jim |
