Interesting, the AC intercooler is the same as the non-AC intercooler in the 940 (top entry).
Thanks Tony

Yes I believe all 700 series intercoolers are the same regardless if they have a/c.

With the floors all repaired the interior could go back in after a clean up and a hoover.

A few patches of loose underseal were addressed and the surface rust was sanded back, treated etc.

The rotten N/S jacking point has been sorted

The drain hole was reinstated

The jacking point on the O/S was fine so it just needed a good clean up, treating, paint and underseal.

Another excellent thread!

The state of that floor (pre-repair) makes me feel a lot more positive about my 740. The new jacking point is awesome: I take it you/your dad fabricated that up from scratch, Luke?

Sorry for the slow reply, I've been meaning to reply for a while!

The jacking points linked to above are a joint effort between me and my dad.

The N/S battery tray was beyond saving but luckily the diesel I recently broke had a pair of trays in amazing condition so the N/S one was utilised.

While the tray was cut out it mean that the rotten towing eye could be removed and the one off the diesel was welded in.

The O/S tray wasn't too bad so only needed a patch repair.

The black outlined area is where the repair was done

The next repair panel that we are going to be making to sell is the area above the battery tray with the dip in it at the bottom of the wheel arch as these are usually rotten along with the trays.

On my 1996 940 LPT, the battery tray has a slight hole into the NSF wheelarch, . On looking under the battery tray/ wheelarch join the metal is folded over under the tray and is rotting along it's length. Looks like water gets trapped/moisture.

Will need repairing in future.

That's exactly what happens, the lip on the top allows moisture to work its way in to the gap and sit there rusting it away.

Bring it down and we can have it done in a day
