Yesterday replaced passenger seat sounds straight forward but had to replace the seat bolster also replaced the passenger side door lock it was interesting to say the least. Today will start on the steering rack replacement some times i wonder if it is worth it but then i stand back and look at the shape of the C70 coupe and just get on with it.

Well this afternoon I disconnected the fuel line from the injector rail and jumpered the contacts for the pump relay to get a couple of gallons of fuel out so my daughter has enough to drive home. It left me with just a couple of gallons in the tank which could be a problem later in the week. My wife's KIA has a full tank of petrol but I wouldn't have a clue how to attack it like I did the V70.

I generally budget at 10 miles each way to work is a gallon a day ,
nicking the wife's car for a couple of nights should improve my fuel economy
and the couple of gallons I put in my daughter's Skoda Fabia became worth nearly 100 miles.

Today I considered how lucky I am to own a 240 estate rather than these other Volvo things.

Today I considered my options.

I’ve tried all sorts of black plastic enhancers from the basic sprays to a couple of the more exotic options and most recently Forever Black. This thing went on pretty easy after giving it a thorough clean first with normal cleaner then with their specific cleaning agent. I ended up doing 3 or 4 coats all round and apart from a few areas where it just wouldn’t stick, it looked really good. I was especially happy with the door handles and tailgate trim but the bumpers looked good also. Made the car look pretty smart.

Until it rained.

So now half that stuff is up the tailgate or on the headlights because it appears you should only use it if you live in Arizona or the Sahara. It actually now looks worse than before because the difference in shades of the bumper is huge so it really sticks out.

So what are my options? Try again? Can I spray paint then Matt black??

WURTH plastic dye is brilliant, i used some on my 850R about 3 years ago, the car sits outside all year and the bumpers still look fresh, i do dress them when i wash the car but that is my own choice
