I have just removed the plugs at the ecu end and the injector end and resistance tested each wire to each injector to make sure none had odd resistance values, they all seemed consistent with each other. My next plan is to take the belly pan off under the engine and check the status of the boost pipes as I have read they can tend to crack on the d5s

Have you checked that you haven't got to much oil in it.. think you said you had a code for oil level

I did check on the dipstick and it was at the higher end of the range but it was within the normal range. I do plan to give it a service once I have sorted this issue out, but I'm not sure if the oil level could cause the misfire symptoms 😳

I changed the fuel filter a couple of days ago to see if it would help when the injectors came back but unfortunately no difference 😔

Not much help then really. Swirl flaps ok still intact, boost sensor turbo vanes sticking or actuator. Just throwing some ideas out there

So the turbo actuator i believe is on the right near the egr. It was a little stiff, but I have freed the arm up and it moves well now (presume it is the turbo actuator)

As for swirl flaps previous owner told me they were don't and the arm itself is still connected and it moves on the vida test. I am not sure how else I can test them ?

Turbo vanes sticking is an interesting idea, one worth considering.

Another thing I have thought was maybe main ecu faulty? But not sure if any of this is common with these volvos?

Thanks for the input and ideas though really do appreciate it

I'm not sure of your particular engine layout but my 07 has turbo with actuator on top of turbo at the rear of the engine about half way down.

Ok thats useful to know thank you.

I will check on vida and haynes and check the actuator again to make sure it was the right one. As from what you say it sounds slightly different but then I know my model has the electrically controlled turbo. Does yours have that also? I hear they can play up as well . When I checked it it was prior to having reference material so I will definitely recheck 😁

Yes mine has that also,I had to replace mine as it stopped working so I had no boost. Least if you check it in Vida least you can rule it out. I assume your maf readings are good as well. Not sure what else to suggest
