This one was only about 40 miles away, but previous cars; South coast of England near Brighton, just outside Glasgow, Chester etc.

I don't count distance as a barrier to getting the right car.

For pug306 I had to go some 35 miles each way.

For V70 about 50.

In both cases I was lucky, though. Having 2 directors in company I was working for, I bought the pug from neighbour of one of them, and Volvo directly from other one.

Same here. I have assisted with two long journeys to get cars, one which by pure coincidence resulted us staying in the same hotel twice. Travelling back from London in the Volvo, by 11pm it was time to quit and we just picked a random hotel off the M6. To go and get a Beetle, we found the garage was only a couple of miles from the same hotel, we liked it, so just booked in again.

I sold a motorbike to someone who flew up to Glasgow Airport and rode it back to London. He went on an excursion through the Lake District and stayed overnight with friends Manchester way.

It is really nice to have a long drive on getting a new car or motorbike.

Around 3 years ago I advertised my Range Rover on a Land Rover forum not expecting to get any replies but to my surprise I was getting requests to view within an hour of the ad going live. The first person to enquire was from the south of France. the chap flew to Scotland, I collected him and his wife at the airport in the Range Rover and drove back to my house where he gave me a wad of cash and drove off. His trip back to the south of France included a week visiting relatives in England before crossing the channel. From leaving my house he covered a total of 1800 miles in the week

My current C70 was sold by my local Kia/SsangYong dealer, a whopping 1¼ miles each way from my house! Do I get a prize? Although to test drive it I did come 20 miles each way from SWMBO's house in the old C70 one lovely sunny Sunday morning last May - so I got a pretty direct comparison between them.

The old C70 came from Cuckfield in W.Sussex, about 95 miles each way from mine, but not far from work's head office in Crawley where I was visiting the day I test drove it, and getting my mileage paid.
