Spare wheel / jack holder
Hi, new to Volvo & to the forum!
Just got a V50, which came without a spare wheel (has a repair kit instead). Not too happy without a spare, I've bought an unused spacesaver from a breakers, but the polystyrene block that holds the jack etc won't fit in with the wheel, and the cone screw thing isn't long enough to secure the wheel. Can anyone tell me what parts I need to secure the wheel and store the jack & wheelbrace, ie how is the V50 spare wheel well fitted out when factory supplied with a spare? A photo would be handy! Thanks. |

if you have a newish V50 there will be no well in the rear to take a spare , the boot floor pressing has been altered recently!

The wheel well is there and the wheel fits in perfectly, I just need the parts to secure it & the tools, Volvo claimed there aren't any, which doesn't sound right as the car can still be factory ordered with a spare.

I have a 08 V50 with space saver. Basically the jack is placed in the wheel well and secured using a thread rod (you need to open the jack to ensure the rod can reach the wheel well floor). The space saver then fits over the jack and is secured using a plastic threaded piece which goes through the centre of the wheel a screws into the wheel well floor.
I hope this helps |

Mattie, thanks that's just what I wanted to hear.
As my local dealer has already told me these parts don't exist, a photo would be a great help, if you're able to post one here? |
