Stop radio automatically turning on?

Hopefully this is the right place to post...

I have a 2013 Volvo V40 D2 and whenever I turn on the engine, the radio also automatically turns on, even if it was off when I last turned the car engine off. Is there a way to have the radio default to off rather than on whenever I start the car?

From what i can see in the online manual it says that if the audio is active when switched off it will automatically activate when switched on. It says nothing about what should happen if it is not activated when switching off. You may be able to set the volume to zero - perhaps it will remember that? Worth a try...

Don't set it to mute set it a couple of bars above and next time you restart it will start on that volume,

If you set to mute on next restart it will set to last volume setting,

if its turned off as in the power button held for 5 seconds off then next restart it should also be off
