head gasket
You could get a new set of liner seals, when I had a 3 series I replaced the head gasket and needed new liner seals because one moved.
Provided your particular 3 series has wet liners, believe it's a renault engine. If it is a wet liner make sure you rotate the head and not pull it straight up like bored engines or you will disturb the liners then you will need new seals or the engine will go kerpow [mine did in a big way]
