  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Default transfercase bad??

hello i'm new here i recently purchasad a 2000 V70 cross country AWD and the transfer case exploded at 51 miles after a tow home got to lookin trying to find a used one but to no avail none around so.. can i make it FWD car till i can get a new one. any sugestions would really help.

Hello, Over on www.brickboard[dot]com the practice of removing the center drive shaft and bevel gear well documented. You wouldn't be the first to do this. One guy listed the part numbers necessary for a complete bevel gear rebuild. If you don't need AWD enjoy the mileage benefit. Kira

i wanted to take the transfer case out of the car for now so i could drive it and about 6 or 7 months get a new unit or rebuld that one i'm a mechanic so i would be able to do all the work at home so any advice on FWD axels or intermadate shaft instead of the t-case.
