OK car fully valeted and detailed including good top coat of wax wheels cleaned and protected, WR SUV3s fitted and balanced so I think I,m ready for the bad weather.

Also gone with the WR SUV 3's via MyTyres. £507.60 in total for all 4.

Will keep my eyes out for a cheap set of alloys just to make life easier...

Exactly the same deal I got through my tyres.

I'm planning on keeping the WR SUV 3's on all year round rather than swapping (they are marked "All Weather" whatever that really means).

I'll try it through summer 2014 and see how I get on - we don't tend to do massive mileage in our XC60 (<10K pa) and I've also read good reports on the WRG2 being used all year round.

Remember though that when the Nokians are down to 4mm they are effectively not suitable for snow and ice.

Already posted this on my other thread, but it's relevant to here as well:

I've finally had the Vredestein Quatrac 3's fitted and I'm very pleased as they were very sure footed in todays horrible wet, cold and windy weather. It was properly dreich here today in the Scots vernacular!

Initial impressions are that they are a definite improvement over the old Toyo Open Country (which amazingly have around 4.5mm of tread left all round after 42.5K miles!). The ride is maybe a little harder and noisier and its too early to to say about fuel consumption. Mileage is 62.5K.

Well - first real test of the Nokian WR SUV3 this morning...I did not realise I had driven over an icy road until I saw the guy behind me going sideways! Then I saw another guy skid into a taxi immediately behind who was turning right - I think he underestimated how much braking he needed.

Just got my Contis back on, decided to go back down to 18".
Found these online, pretty similar to my 20" Aviors I think but more importantly they'll keep us safe over the winter.
This the fourth year with the Contis and probably the last which all told I think is a pretty good return.
Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow.
