Default "New" car tidy up

Having just acquired my first Volvo, a '99 V70R, I have a few little jobs to fix a couple of items. Not sure what options I have, I have searched a little but thought I would ask for some first hand opinions too;

1) Rear seat belt anchor; the casing on the single rear seatbelt is broken making one of the seats unusable. Is it possible to get a new case to clip on or am I looking at a new anchor mount? Where is the best place to get this?

2) Heated mirrors; neither of the wing mirrors appears to have working heaters. Is something like this ebay item suitable for a repair?

3) O2 sensors? I have a warning light on the dash that the PO had checked at Volvo. The only notes I have on the Volvo service record state "Engine Management light on - Three way cat/oxygen sensors". I guess I need to get the real code, but am thinking I will need new O2 sensors.

Cheers for any pointers,

-- Stuart

Seat belt stramge one of mine on the double seat belt anchor has done the same but I managed to press mine back together & it now works fine on the door mirrors If you carfully remove the glass it could just be a corroided connector on the rear of the glass this was brought up recently by someone else so do a search of this forum, if you need repalcement seat belt part try "Rufe" see here

Welcome.!!...hope you enjoy your car.

Don't honestly know about the seat belt problem...but somebody here will.!!
Yes, those replacement heated mirror glasses look as though they will do the job....but you could take the originals off and just see if a clean of the terminals solves the problem.?
As for the oxysensor...you need the code to be sure....you may only need one sensor replaced.

Cheers for the response, I think I will like it here!

I did similar on an old mini I had and wrapped a bit of tape around the plastic cover as a 'temporary repair' - it worked fine until the MOT :-) This time the little plastic prongs inside the cover have snapped so I think a new/2nd hand one is required as I cannot snap it back together.

Thanks for the idea, I will give that a go next weekend - anything to save a few pennies and wield the odd tool!

Time to butter up the local dealer or invest in a reader...

Can you get/do you have one? I would prefer to fix this in the 'right way' as the little darlings use those seats...

One other problem I forgot to mention, the rear drivers side door is a bit 'sticky'. When pulling on the outside handle it does not pop open and needs a fairly hefty tug to open the door. It seems fine when opening from the inside though. Any ideas?

First of all try lubricating the door lock mechanisim in the door with copous amounts of WD40 or simalar if this does not work,
It could just be that the door striker plate needs adjusting to do this first off try holding the outside handle open & gently close the door to see if it catches on the striker plate if it does, slacken off the torx bolts that hold the striker plate to the body but don't loose to much, then holding the outside door handle carefully close the door but don't slam it this should realign the striker with the door lock it can take several attemps so don't get dis heartened if it don't work straight away you can also tap the striker gently to move it around
