Ex-plod and LPG
You'd need to know what system was previously fitted, but if you need the full kit and get an LPG fitter to do it for you, budget around £1600 new. If it was from Humberside Police then it will have been done at Autogas 2000 in Thirsk.
Performance will be a tad down, mpg will be about 85 to 90% of what you get on petrol. My converted V70 2.5 auto dos between 25 and 28mpg on LPG and 28 to 32 on petrol. You'll break even at around 25,000 miles, so if you plan to keep it for 50k plus, don't mind the slight loss in performance, then fit the biggest gas tank you sensibly can and it will be worth it. Oh, and before you do anything else LPG-wise, fit new single-point plugs, a new rotor, a new dissy cap and new HT leads. Cheers Jack |

Jack,
good advice on the plugs and leads etc. They will need to be in tip top condition to run well on LPG. Conversion prices are a little less than that these days for a good LPG system. T5's we are doing for £1400 at the moment. Performance should not be noticably different. |

I do notice a very slight difference in performance between LPG and petrol with my converted V70 CD auto - but it's highly marginal. New plugs - and an occasional clean up for the rotor and dissy - make a big difference.
Keeping up to the filter changes on the LPG is important too. Cheers Jack |

If you have any mapping issues a auto will show them up a more than a manual. If it is hardly noticable I'd not worry about it at all.
With a manual you tend to get around any holes in the mapping by changing gear without even thinking about it. |
