Default XC70 - Intercooler removal

2008 XC70

I have removed the bumper, the lower radiator support and a cross beam in front of the intercooler but I can't figure out how to undo the hose clips that seem to be the only things holding the intercooler in place I have removed the two 8mm hex screws from the base of the intercooler as well.

There are these strange rubbery shrouds that are enclosing both ends of the intercooler that are really in the way, with no obvious way of removing them either.

Any hints or help gratefully received, I was elated after removing the bumper without wrecking it and can't believe that I have been defeated by two bloody hose clips
