V70: General - Audible alert

Back to Volvo again! Now got an ‘08 V70 D5. 2.4 SE LUX Geartronic. Only 71k on clock, quiet comfy like it. Thing is after starting and after locking from remote the speakers give a loud message. Something like Naydelance, maybe even Nederlands? WTF is this? Any ideas?

If your car has the My Car menu that you can interrogate, look for under MY CAR>Settings>System options>Language and see if it is set for English. That might only be for text and it's possible that audible verbal warnings can be selected for countries and that might have to be done with VIDA.

Well "Naydelance" is exactly how the Dutch pronounce the name of their country! If you can borrow VIDA you can look to see if there are audible language options that may have been glitched and the car is trying to tell you.
