Default 2018 XC60 - width restrictions

Hi All,

Picked up my new Xc60 earlier and am curious if there is sufficient clearance to get through a 2.1m width restriction? Is there a simple way to bring in the wing mirrors whilst on the move? Thanks Glenn

You are just in luck, with the door mirrors folded in the car’s width is 1,999cm.
The mirrors are folded in by pressing both the L & R buttons at the same time, reversing the above will reset to normal.
Have you the 360 camera to guide you in this manoeuvre?

As a new member can you add your car’s model to your forum signature to help with future questions.

Enjoy your new motor.

Which also means that you can legally travel in a 2m width restricted lane as the body is 1mm smaller than the limit which is good.

Your next challenge will be to drive into an underground garage most likely associated with a hotel. You will enjoy seeing the scrape marks on the walls of the slopes by the 990 degree corners. For the best experience chose a building and garage built when the Fiat 500 was considered a large car.

Try this one for a tight squeeze. Fold them mirrors in and listen to the sensors go mental

Default XC90 6”6 width restriction

Hi everyone! I’m new to Volvo! Recently bought a 2016 XC90.

Once in a blue moon, I pass through a 6”6 width restriction. My previous car (a battered old 2008 Chrysler Grand Voyager) I could get through easily and not care about crashing through it (not that I did!).

However I’m too chicken with the XC90. Anyone else go through the width restrictions on a regular basis?

I found 1,999cm wide, but according to the UK website it is right.
The strange thing is that this is wider that the belgian and dutch websites
list for the XC90 (1,931/1,958cm with/without fender flares).
According to these websites the XC60 is 1,991cm wide. All dimensions are with mirrors folded.
So it seems that Uk Vovlo's are wider! Perhaps an early brexit symptom?

Maybe it is a rounding error, converted to imperial and back again. Or maybe it is just wrong.....
