My XC90 Ad Blue consumption is similar to the 2.2CDi Mercedes at about 600 miles per litre.

The main difference is warning light comes on with ~1,800 miles remaining in the Volvo, though the level indicator on Sensus is showing half full, which is a bit contradictory.

The Merc didn't give a warning until 900 miles remaining, which is a bit tight if you do 800 miles a week.

If the adblu starts to crystallise in the injector, you will probably get the yellow ‘engine’ light come on. Two hours at the dealers to remove, flush out, update software to change the operating pressure, I guess, and a drive to get everything up to temperature.

The 2.4 is the Ad blue tanks capacity in gallons. Curiosity just got the better of me, went and had a look at the cars screen. Think it's a bit strange using Imperial measurements. Do Volvo know something about Brexit....

Sorry for the delay. My daily commute is 25 miles each way, a mix of motorway, 50mph A Roads (Avg speed cameras) and approx 4 miles through town.

Shorter/slower journies have a massive impact on fuel consumption. This weekend for example, 20 mile round trip, plenty of traffic lights, never got above 50mph (and that was only very briefly), 39mpg for the whole trip.!

I tend to ignore individual journies but sadly, must admit to recording my tank to tank usage.... I usually fill up around 480 - 500 miles and typically get an average of around 50mpg.

Default AdBlue useage

Hi, car now on 11,221 miles and AdBlue gauge just gone to 1/4 and shows orange segment instead of blue.

Added 3 litres of AdBlue and gauge went to 1/2 and blue segments.

Hope this is useful info. for others

I don't think I have ever got that sort of m.p.g. out of any of my cars.
I must take off my work boots more often!

My V90 D4 has covered 31k and it's just had its 3rd full tank of adblue.

I tend to wait for the last segment of the meter to disappear before refilling but this last time I got a 1200 mile warning at about the same time.

I am not disappointed in that I don't have to worry about adblue.
Volvo must have forgotten to put a tank in my V90.

Or perhaps the fact it is a 2017 car had something to do with it.
I admit I also feel a little smug with only having to pay £30 for road tax per year!

Having read about crystals forming in the adblue and adblue injector blocking this item, I was concerned that perhaps this was happening to my car.

My average fuel consumtion, since delivery in March, is a little over 52 mpg

Pete.
I have a MY19 D4 XC60 which I bought as a low mileage 1-year-old. The AdBlue gauge registered 100% when I took ownership as the car had been serviced. I have covered 2500 miles since the Adblue tank was filled and the gauge hasn't dropped from 100%. Is this normal? What is the definitive answer regarding the function of the gauge? Does it only register in increments of 25% rather than showing a continuous reading?
Thanks

It does only move in increments of 25% and will alarm when it reaches 25% (at least it does on mine). Ad Blue consumption is in line with your driving style, I don`t think you have much to be concerned with as yet
