Default Damage to aluminium roof rails

Auto Windscreens fitted a new screen to my V90 yesterday

The fitting guy called me afterward to apologise he had damaged the roof rail.
Apparently there was an excess of adhesive on the original screen from factory!

He passed it to his Customer Care team who are yet to contact me with their proposal for resolution.

Anyone got any thoughts or experience on how these aluminium sections can be repaired? Would a smart repair do it or should I push for replacement?

The damage just seems like surface scratches. I can't "feel" the scratch. How are these sections finished? are they coated or just brushed / polished?

Well the Smart Repair guy inspected the rail this week - and advised they can't do an effective repair
They have recommended replacement

He was at least honest to say he could spray paint them but the repair would be noticeable

So I've got a quote for over £600 from my Volvo Approved Bodyshop to replace the roofrail and am just awaiting authorisation from Auto Windscreens to proceed

Very expensive mistake for Auto Windscreens. Should be more careful shouldn't they.
