S90 - new owner query
I've had a March '18 S90 R-Design for a fortnight now. Really happy with it and got used to the various gadgets and gizmos. The adaptive cruise is excellent!
Just one thing...... The car doesn't seem to have front parking sensors. There is "Park Assist" but it just seems to be the rear sensors. Is that right? I'd expect a car like this to have front sensors as standard. |

After buying a new S90 after driving an E Class I found that I had been spoilt by the Merc and needed front sensors on the Volvo. Your dealer should be able to fit them (you also get side sensors as part of the deal). When I had mine done it was called Park Pilot Assist but cost a fairly hefty £1250 or so but worth it for peace of mind. All S90's should, in my opinion, be fitted with them as standard (I think they may be now) because the front end is just too out of sight when behind the wheel. The actual Park Pilot Assist is a gimmick that I have never used, nor am I likely to use at any time in the future.
Take a deep gulp and get the wallet out. It is worth it.

Glad you are enjoying the car
I also had to have the sensors fitted on a V90 2017, they became standard I think in 2018, when the 12” tft screen was fitted as standard on all models. I think I paid £1,100, I had also had front sensors on previous cars for over 10 years.

Thanks for the replies.
It’s a shame the front sensors are not standard, well not on my car. I can see the black circles on the front bumper so had assumed they were there. I won’t be paying to have them added/enabled. |
