Default Jack clearance

Does anyone know if a standard (small) bottle jack will fit under a V70 Gen 3, just purchased a spare wheel and now I need a jack to go with it

TIA

I have a small halfords bottle jack and just went out to see if it would fit under the front jacking point on the sill. It doesn't! About an inch too tall. If I had a puncture on the font wheel it would make it worse. Best bet is to try and get hold of an original jack, they come up from time to time on Gumtree, ebay and IIRC this forum!

Thanks very much for doing that it is very much appreciated and as I suspected. I'll keep scouring ebay and all the others unless anyone on here has a spare?

Once again thanks very much for taking the time to check this out for me

Does anyone know if the jacking points on a V70 gen2 are the same as those on a Gen 3?

Make sure it can get under the car when tyre is flat, and if you have a scissor jack, its up to the weight, I have a small 2t trolley jack I often have in car, used to just fit in well of the V40 (bit of useless information), but woth seeing what space you have, and what will fit in space you have, bottle jacks aren't really much cop at roadside, as unless road surface is level, the foot print of jack, and lack of flexibility, that a scissor or trolley jack have, renders them IMHO unsafe, for what you want

I don't really have a lot of options, to carry a trolley jack around all the time takes up space and adds a considerable amount of weight so thats not an option, bottle jack does not fit (thanks tommyweaves) so I'm left with a scissor jack or an original Volvo Jack from a V70 Gen2. All I want to do is have the ability to change a wheel if I get a puncture.

Does anyone know if a Gen 2 jack will work on a Gen 3 car?

What do the jacking points look like on your car? I shouldnt imagine they would be different on your Volvo to other models so any Volvo jack may fit (hopefully!) The point being if the jacking point looks about a 12mm dia piece of pipe about 25mm long between to small plates running length ways on the car then thats the same as an S60, which forum member dazab is breaking. ( got there in the end !!) Hope this helps.

That was just the first one I came across, there are many out there that are similar and I'm sure cheaper and lighter too.
