Default Speed dependent power steering

Hi

How do I know if my S80 have a speed dependent power steering? Besides the subjective change in the steering at speeds any objective way I can really tell?

I can't find any clues in my owner's manual.

Thanks

what year? Post 2006 model there is a menu option. If it feels a lot lighter at low parking speeds then you have it. Get a dealer to check the build.

Sorry. It's a 2006 model. Menu option? What's that?

Wouldn't speed sensitive power steering be electrically operated therefore no pump and reservoir etc?

The speed sensitive rack has an electrical connector on the pinion on the engine side of the bulkhead, on a bracket on the rack ..

assuming in your area it is the later S80 model (in UK from 2006 on), if you select menu from the centre console, then scroll down through car settings there is an entry for speed sensitive steering and yu can select 3 different levels.
