Default C70 rear brake strip please answer peoples

Hi have some rear caliper problems handbrake sticking can I strip these calipers remove the handbrake rod clean and refit or are they a sealed unit

Please peoples give me some help

Have you cleaned and greased the sliders in the calipers? Might help a bit

Hi guys not done anything yet away from home until late on the 19th just trying to get all the information before i get home and start ripping apart

Thanks for your replys guys but i need to know if they are totally strip-able or are they the type that is all one piece
So i can plan ahead a bit

They are strip-able but the usual reason for sticking is the rod that connects the handbrake linkage goes through a seal and a bush. When the seal wears it allows water in and the steel rod rusts and jams in the bush. These ATE calipers have been used by many manufacturers for years and I know Ford used to list a repair kit (which included the seal and bush) but Volvo never have.
Most bite the bullet and fit a new or recon caliper unless the previous suggestions worked.

Hi thanks for your reply I will try what has been suggested the last time it stuck on I had to tap the handbrake leaver to the open position so will give everthing a try when home
