But on the wider point, it is actually cheaper to do the same spec on R-design but you can't choose blonde leather, which is very annoying and I don't understand why they restrict you to black for R-design.

Going via DriveTheDeal and I guess that's the price to pay for the discount.
+ 1 with the point, R-Design restricted to black.

I too ordered through an online deal, through https://www.coast2coastcars.co.uk/
website but i knew which dealer was delivering the car.

In fact once the order was placed I was only in touch with the final Volvo dealer.

I guess you may already know this, there is a cut off date before which you can amend your order and make changes to specifications. It maybe helpful to be in touch with the dealer for these.

Thanks, yeah I'll definitely be in touch with the dealer soon and will know who it is, just waiting for them to contact me, which should be early this week according to the chap from DTD.

They told me roughly which part of the country it's in and it's a fair way from me, definitely not anyone local. But I'll get to find out exactly in the next couple of days. I already have to go through the accessories and dealer-fit options (including wheels) with them as that's something you can't do via DTD directly so will probably take time to go through the entire spec just to be sure.

yup, same here. I bought mine from Lincoln and registered with the local dealer in Kent after taking delivery.

I have a finance quote from DTD and I am sure they said the dealer was in Lincoln. I was interested to know if they were still using TMS in Coventry who I got my current car from also via DTD.

Being a bit dumb here, what changes are coming in in April?

Road tax changes come into effect on the 1st April, anyone buying a car costing over £40,000 has to pay £310 on top of the road tax for 5 years, I think the first year road tax for D5 XC90 will be £510 followed by 4 years at £450 then reduces to £140. T6 first year tax will be £1110. See the government dvla website or google road tax changes for full details.

Have been in touch with the dealer for the last week or so and order is well and truly in now.

How long does it take before the common order number works in 'My Volvo' on the official site for tracking? Tried it twice so far and had two separate error messages (progress, of a kind, I suppose). Current one just says 'order not found' so I guess it might be a few weeks perhaps? Anyone know for sure?

Cheers. Still no joy at the moment.

It's weird because I'm guessing these order numbers get generated by Volvo themselves, centrally. So it ought to be instant. Maybe there's a reason why mine hasn't gone in yet, perhaps. It's no biggie for now as the delivery date at the moment is May anyway.
