Default Success!!!

Took out the old Kaput HU-850 and replaced it with a second hand one from E-bay. Took all morning but very grateful to Joe Ninety's tear down. only lost one screw, but "new" unit works.
Thanks
Jez

I to want to go aftermarket but I don't want to loose the centerspeaker or the sat nav voice so I'll have to have the unit repaired once central services opens back up when you say all the cables is that everything i.e. nav steering wheel amp etc

hi, Yes the cable also support the center speaker i believe as it is a converter for the amp cable to RCA. Regarding Satnav voice i thought you can either only have the sat nav screen or center speaker on the volvos? If going down aftermarket route do you really need the Satnav voice if the aftermarket radio comes with better maps?

Here is the link for the full radio kit includes everything you need for an aftermarket radio. you can go for the cheaper route and not have steering wheel control or amp cable etc check the website out for more information.

p.s looking at the site, it seems if you have original parking sensor you would also need to have a separate can bus cable.

after a bit of research you could be right, the center speaker is on a separate line to the amp so even with the converter you would still lose that. Maybe someone can correct me.

I think for the price of the fitting kit I'd just repair my stock headunit I wanted to go after market but the factory sat nav plugs into back of old headunit and I rather like the volvo sat nav and location don't like nav in the dash just in the wrong place for me if that kit some how plugs into the nav witch I dowt then mabey I'd look into it
