Genuine Volvo only. Many have had handling problems with aftermarket parts.

i have come to realise that there are tasks that i will no longer attempt and polybush is not on my list at the moment. I have used Meyle before on the xc70 and not had issues.
as the xc90 is a tad heavier would they be up for the job. Mike

Meyle are a well respected aftermarket supplier. Generally I too would go for OE, but would be happy with Meyle. But then I too would polybush the originals.

+1 for Volvo originals being the only way forward if you want reliability and to keep the comfort characteristics of the car.
They're not that expensive either if you buy from the dealers that sell trade parts on ebay.

Lemforder are a good brand too, so don't forget them. I think Lemforder are the supplier for the control arms to Volvo, but I stand to be corrected on that. The Lemforder control arms look identical to the Volvo ones, just the Volvo ones are more expensive. Meyle is a decent brand too though.
Get an alignment done when you replace the control arms.

Like Mike, there are now some jobs that I could do but am no longer prepared to and replacing control arms is one of them.
When the arms on my old S60 needed replacing I had the original arms polybushed at my trusted Independent . I bought the bushes and they removed the arms and fitted the bushes. The car felt tauter than it ever had even when the original arms were in good condition. Certainly the way I would go with the XC90 I have now.👍

I put meyle wishbones on a V70 few years ago after an mot advisory for worn bushes, they lasted all of 9 months iirc, ended up polybushing originals and was night and day difference...
