S60 2006 HU850 finailly died need advise.
Hello Volvo lovers,
So unfortunately my radio died on my Volvo this morning. It started with no sound all i can hear is popping and clicking sound and every now again it will go full volume and i cant turn down the radio only thing i can do is switch to a different channel after a bit of research it turns out it is a common problem with the HU850 units rather then trying to search for a replacement and it happening again, think im going try open and reheat the motherboard and see how it goes if anyone know which area i need to reheat please let me know or point me to the right post. worst case i am going to buy an aftermarket android unit. But the mean time i want to know can i drive the car with the radio unplugged ? thank you |

yes you can drive with the radio unplugged, however you must keep the climate control panel in otherwise you cant lock the car (with the plipper)

i found an aftermarket radio and all the looms for around £350 could go cheaper but it is something i wanted so if the repair cost is close to that then i rather try repair myself or go down the aftermarket route. |
