Oil leak between gearbox and engine
Hi all, I have a leak between the gearbox and engine on my 2006 2.5T XC90, it’s not a big leak right now - couple drops overnight.
I did the Glove test and there’s a lot of suction on the oil filler cap and dipstick so I think we are ok there. Also checked the cam sensor seals on the back of the engine, also checked turbo, dry everywhere apart from the joint between the gearbox and engine (see photo) I’m thinking it’s either the rear seal or possibly the oil pan, it’s been dealer maintained it’s whole life, it seems the pan has been off already and someone was horny with the RTV liquid gasket lol - see pic. Anyway just looking for some people’s thoughts as pulling the pan off unnecessarily’s gonna cost me $50 in seals (I’ve done the pan job before on my v70) Thanks in advance champs Last edited by Levaz; May 25th, 2020 at 18:46. |
