Exclamation w**k gearbox?

doing my project ,and took it 4 a first test run ,i spent 30quid on volvo geabox oil ,i drove to approx 60mph and gearbox made a rattle (like a noisy thust bearing noise)a and a loud bang , ,ive double checked the gearoil still basicly full ,with nice steel fileing in the oil?i thought these were good gearboxs ,or mine was problery on its last run?i now need another, wasnt impressed this happerning as most usely do 100,000 plus with no probs?,im just removeing the gearbox, ill update what i find later(the missfire i had was the coil ?replaced it did run great?

mate..... your having some bad luck here.
i know nothing about gearboxes, just wanted to say .. keep your chin up.

glad the misfire is sorted, i had a feeling it would be a high tension fault.

Likewise I'm sorry to read of your problem with the gearbox.
Was the gearbox ok when it was in the donor car?
As you said these gearboxes are normally bullet proof. Can you think of anything you have done wrong during the installation?
Did you get your turbo working ok?

with all the volvo sound proofing i carnt remember hearing mutch ,but i did notice there was a lot of oil leaking but looked like it was a leak nr the turbo pipe return ,but later found it was the gearbox seal which i replaced and bought that exspansive volvo oil ??ive got the gearbox off 45mins and found the input shaft bearing has colapised in the rear of the gearbox and broke some cogs ??i carnt really do ought with it ,im highly thinking of cutting my losses with the totaly ,its just turning into one big money pit??(no turbo yet either)
