V40 1.6D injector fault and DSTC
Yesterday my 2013 1.6D S40, 26K mile, came up with a few messages:
1, DSTC temporarily disabled. 1, DSTC service required. 3, Engine service required. Initially with '1' the steering shuddered like wheels out of balance followed by very low power, 15 mph max. I managed to get onto the motorway services and stop. Switched engine off, faults went away but came straight back after driving 1 mile. AA called and attended, diagnosed faulty injector which was why the engine running rough. Car taken to Rybrook main dealer in Warrington, they have diagnosed faulty injector, £680, and maybe a new DSTC ECU because the faults may not be linked, at £1000. AA garage insurance will pay 1st £500 of a repair. The car exhibited the DSTC fault in November last year but Rybrook could find no trace of it when they connected it to their diagnostic system. Anybody else had this issue? Any thoughts? |

Sorted
In the end a new injector was required. Quoted price from Rybrook Warrington was £680, they refused to offer any goodwill reduction.
However, I contacted Volvo UK who told Rybrook to offer a 40% reduction because the failure was unexpected and not a serviceable part. Well done to Volvo UK. |
