Your more laid back than me.Anyone pokes me with a stick regarding my partner would get it skewered into their eyeball.

I sense that at least that argument is over.
Do you get to keep both???

Not assuming the car and wife btw!!

T5 and the R...

Hides behind the sofa!!

Oh don't worry about that issue, the situation was resolved in good time.

Mate you probably know the score she probably gets to keep both - and where was the judge when I was replacing the cambelt in the rain last Christmas and she could not be bothered to get off her big arse and make the ol boy a cup of tea ?

As for my original post bit of a wind up really. Dunc has been terribly kind to me recently but on the face of it attacking a member in the way he has done - totally unacceptable. I say face of it because I do not know if there is previous history and if is easy to express aview without knowing the true facts .

Newspapers do it all the time

My Oct 97 V70R FWD is totally hatstand imo and way too 'raw' for me.. When I bought it last August the previous owner had just tottered around in it for 6 years and it was all gummed up. It had been remapped, but something (I still don't know what) was affecting it's ability to attain it's potential (no vac leaks etc, etc). It was chronichally over fuelling (12 to the gallon at one point!) and needed severe attention..

I changed the oil 8 times in 6 months, flushed the gearbox, changed the plugs, relentlessly put Momentum 99 through it with litres and litres of Redex and fitted a JT Tuning full 3" turboback with 200 cel cat. It slowly - very slowly - has started to come alive. Disconnecting the battery every week for 2 days at a time has helped the ECU learn it's new parameters. It now does a healthy 25 to the gallon country lane and town driving and will demolish most hot hatches. The turbo boosts to 13psi max (I fitted a boost gauge) and it's too fast for me, but I adore it of course...

I have had both, a 850R and V70R as well as a handful of T5’s
The 850R was fairly new.
The V70R’s one had just over 110k on it the present one 225k. Both FWD auto.May get a manual gearbox fitted soon.
Both 850 and early V70R, stock drive similar. As very similar mechanically , ‘97 and ‘98.
The 70 series cars are a bit more modern looking inside and at the front end.
The later ME7 cars feel a lot tamer with a more even power delivery , The T5 is fast without feeling it. The AWD cars , are better in the wet, but the extra wight slows them down and takes some of the edge off.
Once maped, it can change the character of the car a lot.

So my choice FWD V70R.
I hope you find a nice Saffron. I like mine as different to most cars.
