Not defending the OP. However I have known several people bid and loose on cars (and other items) eBay only to have the seller contact after auction ended and ask if they would still buy it for their highest bid.......

Of course there was always a good reason why the bidder won it and then pulled out, not that the sellers mates were upping the bidding to the price they wanted...

I think eBay a bit of a joke... pulling the 'not as described' line is fine if it's got blatant issues, stuff the seller has clearly lied about but this seems to have been fairly accurately described plus yes, there us the opportunity to inspect before bidding. Bidding blind, a normal human would use common sense and knowing it's a 20yr+ old Volvo, it'll have wear and tear etc and that should be considered, more do given its relatively cheap for a running T5 these days. Granted if there are underlying faults that haven't been disclosed, fair enough but to me it sounds like the OP wants champagne for lemonade money.

Well i think everyone can make assumptions and theories on what happened ect, but i have contacted the seller about this car and not had a response. So i am guessing its gone?

Or the OP has taken some peoples advice and bought a new car lease deal for his work? Which makes more sense. I am not defending the op here at all here. All I am saying is if the car isnt sold, I will be happy to come and see it.

I'm not sure if the OP wanted champagne for lemonade money (have you seen what some of these artisan lemonades cost?), I think he wanted to spend a bit more on a nicer example but talked himself into bidding on this.

It's a shame both the seller and buyer have gone incommunicado when there's somebody who might be prepared to buy it. It could be that the seller is trying to get an answer from the OP before replying.

Did you contact the seller through both Gumtree and eBay?

Relisted due to time waster.

Why do ebay not follow up with complete wasters with no intention of buying something like the OP.

He has also turned down a manual t5 for less than a grand, what a shame!

That description and pictures clearly show what you are getting.

If you bid, you know what you are doing so should see it through upon winning.

Alternatively put your hand in your pocket and get a nice 850R.........
