This is what I have currently. How can I tell if the 'new' map on the Volvo website is in fact 'new' and not the version I already have ?

That is the previous version you have, not the new one that was released about 2 weeks ago. It is easy to update it yourself, follow the instructions on the Volvo website.


Or if the dealer installed the previous version according to your image within the last 2 weeks, then tell them it was not the latest version they put on and can they rectify it for you.

I believe the version number works that the last 4 digits are the month and year of release if that helps for future checking

Finally sorted !!
I decided to download and install the latest maps myself rather than lose the car for a day while the Dealer did it

After a couple of failures writing to the USB stick were overcome, eventually the download took approx 3hrs, and the install from USB around the same time.

No drama, relatively straightforward.
Having done it once I should be better prepared for any future updates.

Do Volvo have a clue which way up they are?

On April 3rd I got an email from Volvo customer support following my complaint that they were leaving XC50 owners in the lurch with outdated maps:

Thank you for your email below.

I can confirm you that the next maps update for your XC60 is due to be released week commencing November 2018.

Map updates have always been every 6 months which is much better than any other car I've had.
I suspect that when you asked, the April update was already released and about to go live, so the system was showing the next update in November, in a further 6 months time.
