Default strange noise from front wheels

my 2009 xc90 d5 [47k miles] has recently started to make a fairly quiet but noticeable 'thrum thrum thrum' sound at speeds above 60mph, it is quiet but you can hear it if no radio/music is on etc, and the funny thing is that when you gently rest your left foot on the brake pedal the sound goes away, this makes me think it may be a front brake pad issue or would it possibly be bearings [ ive had 2 rears already under warranty] !!!! any suggestions or advice would be appreciated

thanks

I had something similar and it was an inner pad sticking on (and causing premature wear). Caliper off, cleaned and unstuck, with new pads cured mine.
