Default B20A air filter replacement

Does anyone know if the the air filter insert, part number 1277747 on Brookhouse website https://www.classicvolvoparts.co.uk/...=E_Air_Filters fits into the sealed metal air filter housing from a B20A engine. Pic attached.

Interesting. Simon says yes and then talks about a plastic housing. Yours is metal by the looks of it. The problem may be the flat section which looks as if it may stop a circular filter fitting properly. The filters normal fit snug around the moulded ring. The one for the B18 Zenith is circular and once you get one of those open you can fit a circular filter. Best to have a spare that you can bodge around a bit! You can fit one of the standard blue filters. You will need the one with the tube for the pipe to the filler.

Most places reference the filter cartridge as a replacement, only place I found selling a housing is here: https://classic-volvo.com/amazon-121...ilter-nos.html but darn expensive.

I think the attachment bolt holes are tubes as well so if so might need to drill them out to un-attach from the top hat section. Will see how I get on.

Had a look when I was over and the filter replacement will fit from the measurements on the net. It fits in the section shown in the underside of the old housing.

The internal tubes are to stop the housing being crushed when you tighten the fixing bolts.

Put up a Wants for another housing, metal or plastic, along with the extra hose and intake nozzle if you need them. They might be left over from someone's twin carb conversion.
