Default Pesky electrical gremlins

Today whilst coming off the motorway the light on the slip road turned to red so dipped the clutch and stopped. Dash lit up like a Christmas tree and turned the engine off! Ignition remained on. Started up and drive off not thinking much.
Stopped at a car factors to buy parts for a job and on teh return journey it came up on the dash stop safely no oil pressure. Turned car off at the lights and turned back on with no warning ect.

I've gave my laptop with Vida away ATM so can't use that but read it with two code readers and it's giving code U0140 - lost communication with bcm.

Is this a known fault? I'm best cleaning all connections on my ecm/bcm and take it from there?

Any known wires that are known to chaff anywhere and so on?

Thanks

hii,
i can't help on your specifics but on my previous XC70 (08yr) we lost the aircon control, when the garage (local indy) explored they found several wires chaffed in the loom bundle where it squeezes between the engine and airbox&fusebox. with those repaired normal service returned.
Like i say no idea otherwise, all the best.

Wires quite possible, been there on a wild goose chase and replaced bits only to then find it was wiring looms. Pain in the back side as it can affect anything. My gear box went beserk and it was all down to chawed wires in the end, cost wrong side of 600 til sorted.

Since that day the car has been fine... Wonder if it was water ingress. Will have a look over the looms when the weather gets warmer

Had a look over the looms ect the other day there and all good. Today the car cut out whilst I was turning a corner.... Could a faulty sensor be the culprit? Can buy a new one for under £15 so may buy and fit
