According to the blurb at the side of the advert they sell "competitively priced vehicles". Who's he competing with for price - Lamborghini?

Hi,

Yep... Way over the top!!

But it does look to be in A1 condition.

If you consider the cost of getting your hands on a good 240 GLT which needs work on it (service, clean, more cleaning, rust eradication etc) how much would you pay out over a year or so bring a car up to speck (given thats what you want).???

It may work out cheaper to just go buy that car.....
Not as much fun though!!

But by doing one up a bit at a time Mrs. Des may be slightly less aware of the amount spent than if you shelled out three grand in one fell swoop though.........

Hence the 240GLT sitting outside..

But there will be those who would consider this a worthy investment..
Then there is the Jubilee 240 on ebay.....

Looks nice but I wouldn't pay 3K for it!

Still plenty around sub 1K - you'd be better off buying one of them and carrying out remedial work yourself or at least arranging to have this done by trusted 3rd parties - I wonder how much more you would have to spend on this one? What would be the final bill - 4K? 4.5K?

£400 - £900 is rather a better starting point methinks.....

This is way overpriced.

Look on the bright side: with 17,000 miles on it, the engine isn't even run in yet (just like the old, proper Vauxhall slant-4 that needed 40,000miles before it was properly ready for use, though the body was usually shot by then......) And I like the FE Vauxhalls.

Thought it looked a topper would like to see how good it is in real life. Expensive yes but how much would you pay in theory for what would appear to be an almost as new 240. Maybe £2995 is a fair price?

But its not even a GLT, It you look on the web site, its GL with GLT wheels...

A tad overpriced methinks?
I'm up in Northumberland next week, perhaps we should pop in and have a look on the way ober the Simon's place (Cunbrianmale) to pick up bits off his 960 (Mind you, I would get it in the neck from SWMBO doing that!¬!).

You could always do a quick report for folks here to assess the car and help in their decision making...
