Re-spray - and soon.
Any pointers guys ? The car is a 1972 MGB GT. Its my 17 year old sons first car.
It was badly stored prior to purchase and the paint has blistered. Keeping it simple, I'm looking for a capable person to 1. Remove the existing paint. (We've taken the paint off the bonnet and roof....) 2. Tidy the outer surface of the door bottoms and a couple of small areas. 3. Remove any trim (most is off and stored) 4. Etch prime 5. Colour 6. Polish 7. Replace trim. PM me please. Cash waiting. I've contacted local bodyshops who either (if any good) can't fit it in until the end of the year (!) or give an 'estimate' (of both time and cost) which ranges from 'Yeah, 10 days mate, errr....six weeks I mean, perhaps....well, we'll have to see when we get into the car....' Etc Etc Etc.........either that or the 'examples of work' tell their own story. I'm not looking for a Pebble Beach Standard of finish. Just something reasonable at a reasonable price. As I say, its his first car, bought with his own (very) hard earned cash. He has his test in about a months time and insurance is in place. We were going to complete this ourselves (we've done a lot to the car together) but we are in the middle of a surprise relocation as, out of the blue, our landlord is wanting to sell the property to developers........... Any help appreciated, Cheers, Mark. |

Try Karmagik in Chesterfield - not a million miles from you. Steve is the proprietor and since finding him I don't take my car (either of them or my fiancees) anywhere else. He's very honest and a genuine chap, if he has the time (can't guarantee anything) I'm sure he'll accommodate you and your needs.
